General information
The Antilliana-Caribiana department is a growing library in itself: a library within a library, situated on the first floor of the main library. You do not have to be a member in order to consult our Antilliana-Caribiana collection.
In the Antilliana-Caribiana department you can find:
- Every publication in or about the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba
- Every publication by or about an Antillean or Aruban author
- Caribbean publications for research
The Antilliana collection is considered to be our national collection.
With the growing interest of residents and non-residents in the cultural, historical, socio-economic and political development of the Antillean community an increase of the Caribbean collection was unavoidable

- Antillean and Caribbean magazines
- A unique collection of historic and geographic maps (old and new)
- Community VIP’s biographies
- Documentation about several Antillean topics
- (Doctoral) Thesis of local people
- Important reports about Curaçao and the Netherlands Antilles
The Antillean-Caribbean collection can only be consulted at the library. You can always make copies. However there are some books for circulation in the Adult's Department and/or the Kids' Corner. Summary Antilliana/ Caribiana
