These pages of our website provide information about our kids’ section and our bookmobiles.

Kids’ section
Our kids’ section is located on the first floor of our main library in Scharloo. All our kids, starting from the age of 2, are welcome. Our collection includes books (in Papiamentu, Dutch and some in English and Spanish), magazines, videos and some comics in Dutch, for lending. We have materials for children of all ages, but when you reach the age of 14, you may also start making use of the section for youths and adults.
We also have videos for children, but to borrow these you have to bring an adult who is a member of the library. If this person has not registered for membership yet, he or she can always do so.
You can borrow up to 3 items each time you visit the library. You may keep them for 3 weeks, but if have not finished them, you may extend the lending period by another 3 weeks, provided that nobody else has put them aside.
Besides borrowing books, videos and some comics, you can always visit the kids’ section to do your homework, to watch TV, to have a great time drawing with your friends and to play educative games on the computer.
We have special activities for children every Friday afternoon.

Parents and educators
We have a special collection for parents and educators, which include books about several interesting topics related to children’s education.

Info desk
We still have something very important to inform you about: our info desk! At our info desk we can help you find the right information for your school project or to satisfy your curiosity. We have various documentation files containing interesting topics for your lecture at school, such as: numerous animals, several countries, earthquakes, volcanoes and much more.
In order to be able to have these files always accessible for everyone, they are not for lending, but you can always make copies in our kids’ section.
