| Membership, fees and charges 
Membership is free for children and teenagers, 2 – 17 years. To apply for a children’s library card, parents or guardians should present a valid ID (for example, an ID-card, driver’s license, passport) at the lending desk. A 2nd library card for children costs f 3.00. Teenagers aged 14 and older who have an ID-card can apply on their own.
Young adults from 18 to 25 years and Adults with a valid ID can apply at the registration desk on the ground floor.
Non-residents such as tourists or individuals who are awaiting their official residence permit may also apply for temporary membership of the Library. A non-resident is anyone who stays on the island for less than 3 months. The library card is f 7.50 or f. 20 and a deposit of f 50,- per person is required. This sum will be returned upon cancellation of membership and return of books.
The library card must be renewed annually.
